A new Junior Optimist Club was started at Jeffersonville HS! Rick Condon is the JHS  Faculty Sponsor of the newly formed club named Junior Optimist International Club(JOI). 

OPTIMIST CLUB GOLF SCRAMBLE
This year's Golf Scrambles will on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays beginning in APRIL through OCTOBER. A complete listing of Golf  Scramble dates is available on the CALENDAR OF EVENTS page. Located: New Albany Springs Golf Course (formerly New Albany Country Club) at 1702 Graybrook Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. Clubhouse phone (812) 949-5090. With "shotgun tee offs" starting at 6:00 pm, we have reduced the cost to play 9 holes of golf to $25 in our golf scrambles.  The events will be called: "The Spin the Wheel Scramble".  You get golf+cart plus 2 FREE brats or hot dogs.  Bring children, those under 12 get to play and their golf is free.  There are some great. incentive prizes offered at differ times.  You can start earlier, if necessary, just call ahead.

08/09 Optimist International Foundation President - William B Scott
William B. Scott was the 2008-09 Optimist International Foundation President.  Bill B. Scott, know in the Optimist Club circle as "Mr. Optimist" is a charter member of the Jeffersonville Evening Optimist Club, and has had perfect attendance since joining in l952.  Bill was Club President, Zone Lt. Governor,  Governor of the Indiana District, and also served as an International Vice President.  At the 2007 Optimist International Convention held in July in Montreal, Canada, he was elected to be the President - Elect of the Optimist International Foundation Board of Directors.  In 2008, he became the President and was installed at the Convention in Dallas, Texas.  Bill is a member of the Jeffersonville Evening and Jeffersonville Breakfast Optimist Clubs, the Regina - Downtowners Club (Saskatchewan, Canada) and the Ausable - Port Franks Club of Ontario, Canada.
